Review – Chelsea FC Platinum Hospitality At Stamford Bridge

Taking my little man to see the Chelsea Vs West Ham match on Sunday 17th March is probably the highlight of his year. Getting to experience his first ever Chelsea FC match at Stamford Bridge on a Platinum VIP hospitality package has no doubt made that experience one on a whole other level.

Having met all the players on the Tuesday before the match, during that of a training session at Cobham, Little man was excited to see how training and match preparation translated into match day performance. Admittedly, I was looking forward to witnessing this too, while also discovering how Chelsea catered for its fans on a platinum hospitality package.

Well, we were not to be disappointed. We arrived at Stamford bridge to witness reasonably heavy queues at most of the gates. Luckily our tickets meant that we got to enter the stadium via the ‘East Stand Reception’ for the Executive Club, meaning no queuing and no impatient 12 year old boy moaning in my earhole (impatience and Asperger’s syndrome normally come as a package but thankfully not today).

Our pre match hospitality began at 14.20 PM which was roughly the time we arrived. We were greeted at the doors to the executive dinning area and shown to our fully dressed table by our personal waiter for the afternoon. At this point we were also given the official team sheet listing the players for that days game and that of a complementary match programme. Oh and how could I forget! At this point I was given a lovely glass of bubbly (much appreciated following a ride on the busy & very sweaty London Underground).

Our table was finely dressed for dinning with official boxed Chelsea gifts placed on each persons table setting. A lovely touch and one we didn’t expect.

The service provided was of an excellent standard and I can honestly say that there wasn’t a single point when I needed to call for a waiter! My glass never ran empty and Little man was in his element with free choice of the bar (with Alcohol of limits of course).

By 14.30 PM we were ready to order. The hospitality package comes complete with a 3 course meal, and it was one that was absolutely wonderful, both in presentation and taste. I had a beautiful smoked salmon starter with a main dish of beautifully cooked tender beef followed by what I confess to be my favourite part of the meal the ‘Dessert’

There was plenty of time to let our stomachs settle with the match kicking off at 16.00 PM. During this time we got to meet an old Chelsea legend, Ex Goal keeper ‘Peter Bontti’ who was kind enough to sign our match day programmes.

The platinum experience is one that keeps on giving. What with seats directly outside the dinning area, I almost felt like I was popping out onto the balcony of a posh hotel.

Don’t think that the hospitality package removes you from the games atmosphere. We had some of the best seats stamford bridge has to offer. Directly in the middle of the Pitch’s half way mark, right above the players dug out. With seats like this we didn’t miss a thing! Which was great considering ‘Frank Lampard’ scored Chelsea’s first goal of the match and his 200th goal since joining the team.

The game itself was spectacular viewing and I’m sorry if I offend the West Ham fans of the world, but Chelsea ran rings around them with the game finishing with a 2-0 win for Chelsea. Though it should be noted that the fact they only scored the two goals was most annoying. I think I counted at least another 9 near misses.

During half term we returned to the platinum dinning area for refreshments of beautiful cream scones and tea (with alcohol and juices still firmly on the menu).

With Chelsea’s win everybody was in high sprites and as to let the crowds outside settle we enjoyed the last part of the package – post match hospitality. This included some hot snacks and more free bar till around 6.45pm, an hour after the final whistle.

This was great as I didn’t really fancy joining the long queues for the tube. Little man gets really panicky using the underground when its too busy, plus I didn’t want him to be smack in the centre of any fan banter… (Some of the West Ham fans seemed full it during the game) and although this is mostly harmless, little man can get a bit upset hearing others shout out rude comments about a team he loves.

We enjoyed our last hour as VIPs before finally embarking on our journey back home to South London. We even caught a glimpse of John Terry with his two beautiful little girls on leaving Stamford Bridge, a great ending to a perfect day.

I would highly recommend Stamford Bridge Platinum Hospitality Package, especially for special occasions, business events or for those who just purely enjoy to do things in a luxurious manner.

Its a bit different to what most are used to (including myself) but a great experience all the same.

With great, seats, food, drinks and importantly, great atmosphere … Stamford Bridge, Platinum Hospitality Package does well to impress!

Say Happy Mothers Day The Baker Days Way

20130309-164101.jpg

If like myself your not the best at baking cakes, or simply can’t find the time, then you’ll love Baker Days Cakes.

Baker Days offer the ‘Letterbox Cake’ a perfectly formed personalised cake, packed with TLC in a pretty little keepsake tin, that easily fits through the standard letterbox, meaning the lucky recipient doesn’t even need to be home to receive it.

20130309-164150.jpg

With hundreds of designs to choose from, Baker Days offer a unique idea for a Mother’s Day gift. Each cake can be personalised with your own message and there is also the option to add your very own photo to your cake.

I sent my mum a pretty Baker Days Letterbox Cake for Mother’s Day, which arrived a few days backs. This certainly put a smile on my mums face and I was invited round for a piece with a cuppa.

For Mum I had chosen the cutest little heart and flower design. The centre of the cake sports a pretty vibrant heart surrounded by flowers. The message reads “Best Mum, Love from Claire” Its then finished of with a pretty floral design in the same vibrant pink around the sides of the cake.

20130309-164253.jpg

I was presented with a range of flavours and cake base ingredients, when choosing my cake. Although we opted for a simple sponge that was still moist and delicious, also on offer were fruit, carrot, double chocolate or even gluten and wheat free. Some involved a very small additional charge that was most reasonable at no more than £2.

Mums cake arrived carefully packaged in a snug fitting box. The cake is perfectly presented in the cute keepsake tin with the added touch of a packet of love heart sweeties.

Mum was most impressed with the gift and so was I.

Letterbox cakes from Baker Days cost from as little as £14.99 with free delivery and a next day option if ordered before 2pm.

Baker Days also make larger party cakes and even cupcakes for all occasions.

Checkout the Baker Days Website for more information.

Beautiful Vintage Inspired Cookies

Its Valentines Day tomorrow and if I was sending a special someone a gift I’d send these.

20130213-175514.jpg

The Cookies are made by the Queen of Hearts Cookie Company. They are homemade and each individual cookie is then decorated by hand in some truly exquisite designs.

I was so lucky to be sent a large box of cookies to try.

Every single small detail has been thoroughly thought out, from the packaging and presentation in which your cookies arrive in, to the actual design of each cookie.

Mine arrived securely packaged to avoid breakages. Within the packaging I discovered a pretty purple box sealed with pretty decorative lace tape.

20130213-175314.jpg

Inside the box within a covering of tissue paper I found 13 of the most prettiest cookies I’ve ever seen. The sheer prettiness of these made me want to display them on pretty vintage china plates laid out on a country table with strict instructions that these are just for show and no one must eat them! Of course that could never happen in my house not with 3 cookie monsters on the prowl.

20130213-175353.jpg

Our cookies came in a mixture of shapes and sizes. Within our box there were 4 large hearts, 2 circular flower cookies and 7 small hearts.

20130213-175227.jpg

The colour pallet chosen is one perfect for the occasion of Valentines.

The small red hearts are stunning with the little gold cherub design, making them truly unique to any other design of cookie I’m yet to see.

20130213-175914.jpg

I love the black and white flowers that have been so delicately iced and then finished with pretty gold edible beads.

The large hearts below have been covered in a thick layer of black icing making the beautifully piped white lace stand out brilliantly.

20130213-180547.jpg

The remaining small hearts feature a delicate flower that acts like a corsage for the heart… Very pretty on the eye.

The cookies taste wonderful. They are flavoured with vanilla and are of a wonderful texture.

The Queen of Hearts Cookie Company is ran by Sarah a very talented mother from Lancashire who is passionate about her cookie designs.

It all started with her idea to create her own mother some cookies for Mother’s Day, cookies that were inspired by the vintage china that dressed the tables at her summer wedding.

20130213-182557.jpg

There are some beautiful cookie designs over on the Queen of Hearts website and it seems there is no design to difficult for this company to achieve. These are true designer cookies that have even been created for celebs. If your looking for cookies for any occasion, whether it be Valentines, birthdays, tea parties or a wedding, then I’d highly recommend you check them out!

Gluten Free diet? Just contact the Queen of Hearts and they will make your cookies Gluten Free.

I know what I’ll be ordering my mum for Mothers Day this year!

A few camping essentials

This year I attended a number of festivals and enjoyed camping at the Wilderness in Oxfordshire.

It was during this trip that I tested a few essentials given to me by a lovely PR I know through twitter.

One of the items I testing was of the alcoholic type. Only the “No Glass Bottle Rule” put a spanner in the works! I wasn’t about to give up the alcohol, the security already had a table full and I’m guessing there was no plan to bin them. I’m a girl who drinks only once in a blue moon. My drink of choice is normally white wine and I certainly don’t drink beer! So, as these drinks were bottles of Chang beer you can be forgiven for wondering why I was even bothered?

My friend and fellow festival goer was looking forward to a chilled bottle of chang and the few others we had, we had planed to delight some fellow campers with a bottle. As I insisted my friend didn’t crack one open before we’d even arrived at destination Wilderness, she was now looking none to impressed at the prospect of me handing them over. With this, the decision was made… We’d plot on the grass outside and try them out before entering the campsite (after all the sun was shining and it was one hell of a beautiful day)! Well, it didn’t take long for a few festival goers to become interested in the offer of a few free bottles of beer. We sat on the grass with our new found friends (that we technically paid to endure our company) and with the exception of myself and my lemonade, everyone else enjoyed a bottle of Chang.

Chang is a beer produced in Thailand. It’s 5% in vol and available in 330ml bottles. The beer put a smile on every bodies face (with the exception of the unimpressed security) so I’m sure it was pretty good and worth a try.

It’s worth noting that Chang is a very light and refreshing beer. My friend Donna commented that in a strange way… It was a really famine beer, that could be drunk easily.

Another product we put through its paces was ‘Nakd’ a range of healthy snacks that came in the form of packed infused raisins and health food bars. These healthy treats come in some exciting flavours to delight all taste buds. Choose from flavours such as infused raisin, Crazy Cola and Tangy Lime in the raisins or a whole host of exciting flavours in the health bars.

20120906-133448.jpg

Nakd‘ offer a great way to treat yourself to something sweet without the calories!

Of course I was totally up for testing something claiming to be both sweet yet calorie free. Yet, as always I was a tad suspicious of these common claims and suspected they may taste more rabbit food than anything else.

I was honestly surprised. The packaging is really vibrant and inviting, and although once opened the Health food bars reminded me of a squashed teard, they actually tasted rather yummy.

Nakd are great to take along with you to festivals or just long days out. They are handbag friendly and supply a great energy kick in a really healthy way. These gets a big thumbs up.

Last but by no means least, we have the e-cloth, an environmentally friendly cleaning brand who have recently developed their latest Barbecue Pack. It eliminates the need for chemical cleaning products as it needs nothing but water alone to clean effectively & efficiently – keeping your green conscious clean.
20120906-140648.jpg

Well, given we would be camping in a very green place and I consider myself a green kinda girl… These were perfect. I didn’t just use the e-cloth to clean the barbecue but found them great for washing the plates (who want to go back home with smelly, dirty plates in their rucksack)? Admittedly we had a little trouble with our barbecue and one of these damp e-cloths did a good job to put out the fire! 😉 Not only are they environmentally friendly, but a life saver too.

These are currently reduced at Lakeland ( from £8.99 down to £2.99) why not get yours ready for next summers barbecue?
