How To Embed A Vine Video On A WordPress.com Blog Right From Your iPhone

Not heard about the social network Vine yet?

Seriously its something you are gonna love and my guess is its set to be the next big social sharing platform. So… Let me enlighten you.

Twitter the social network we all know and love has launched the new Vine app, a social network that lets you create and share short 6 second looping videos. Yes, 6 seconds! Just like twitter with its 140 character rule, Vine gives you 6 seconds to get the message out there!

I’m loving it, the possibilities are endless. Vine offers brilliant ways to share all life has on offer from a babies first steps, a new theme park ride or even a super quick how too video!

Admittedly that sounds crazy doesn’t it. But its possible and its down to the way Vine allows you to create the clip. A Vine is a video thats made up with a number of images. During the recording of your Vine you can pause, change the scene then restart. you can do this countless times to make your vine. This combined with the continuous looping of your Vine video brings about a really creative result.

So if Vine videos are so great bloggers like me are going to want to add them to their blog posts! I’m already planning to add a number of Vine How Too videos to replace the images planed for a couple of my up coming craft. tutorials! But how do we embed them in a blog post and more importantly can we add them if we blog on a wordpress.com blog!

Well I’ll answer the latter question first! Yes, Vine videos can be added to a wordpress.com blog post and you don’t even need to be on your desk top to do so. I’m able to add my Vine clips directly from my iphone.

Look here’s the proof

(I know the cats obsessed by the string)!

So just how did I get my Vine onto my WordPress.com blog post?

You will notice when you make a Vine on your iPhone that the app only offers you the option to either share your vine of Facebook or Twitter. Vines cannot be saved to your iPhone photo libary or added directly to Youtube.

So… Opt to share your Vine on twitter than close the Vine app and instead of opening your twitter app google your twitter account instead.

Twitter will then open in the mobile version (don’t worry there is no need to use the desktop version for this)! You may notice that if you have the twitter app installed on your device it offers you the option to open twitter in your app. Just click the X button to take that of the screen.

20130216-054422.jpg

Now access your tweets via the ‘Me’ tab and your vine will be your last tweet. Click on the tweet and you will notice your vine is embedded into your tweet so it can be viewed directly from twitter. Now go to the URL address next to your google search tab in safari and copy the entire link.

20130216-054610.jpg

Now open your wordpress app and opt to create a blog post. Now simply paste the URL directly into the template where you write your post. You will now notice the URL contains the word “mobile” followed by a “full-stop) after the “http” and before the word “Twitter” simply delete both the word “Mobile” and the “full-stop”.

Now save blog post as a draft and then open a preview of your post… You should then see something that looks like this…

Your tweet as it appears on twitter with the embedded Vine fully attached.

Another way to add it to WordPress.com is to access your Vine video via its URL on a desktop computer. Right click and save video to your computer. Then simply upload to youtube and then add your Vine as a youtube video embed to your blog post as you normally would. This Is a good option for those who would rather not have the additional attached tweet on display.

So I hope this helps you embed your Vines onto your WordPress.com blog posts.

Vine is not yet available on Andriod devices but is already available free of charge on the iTunes App Store to download now.

Have fun.

A Tantrum With A Groovy Twist

Ok as a mother of three, a son with Asperger’s syndrome, daughter of 9 going on 19 and a toddler putting me though my paces as he experiences the terrible twos, I sure am used to a tantrum or two.

Yet, though its extremely rare that one would see a funny side to this… After all why would you? I have discovered a way to convert it into something epic.

While I was messing around with an App I’d just downloaded from the iTunes App Store on my iPhone, the toddler decided to have a mini blow out for no specific reason (as 2 year olds tend to do). The funny thing was the app I was messing with was that of ‘Just Dance 3‘ the auto dance app that claims that just about anybody can dance.

Well, I was just about to scrap the mini clip I’d filmed due to the toddlers sudden outburst when I decided to take a peek at it before binning it! I’m actually rather glad I did! Why? Because this is what I saw…

See, anybody can dance… Even during a tantrum!

IF HANDBAGS COULD TALK!

I don’t know about you ladies but if my handbag could talk it would likely have a thing or two to say about its owner!

I have a multitude of handbags in a multitude of colours, in an array of shapes and sizes! Is it at all possible, that I do not have a handbag to compliment every single outfit in my wardrobe? Umm… I very much doubt it!

You see, bags and shoes are a love of mine, there my downfall when it comes to spending money, I just cannot resist! My motto of late seems to be, “The bigger the bag the better” though if I’m completely honest, thinking about it, I have to ask myself, “Is my love for the oversized bag, causing me to become more than a little disorganised?”

I swear… Merry Poppins has nothing on me! When I pop my hand in one of my handbags, I tend to lose a whole arm! The depth of the bag becomes endless, which makes routing around at speed, a little difficult.

Now, when purchasing my chosen bag, I want it to have that, “New Leather” smell, the one that screams out… “I’m new!” The right design and colour are of the up-most importance, yet, so is the interior! I like compartments, lots of them, a bag that boast efficient storage space. Though, why this is, I’m not sure, I simply don’t understand!

Why? Well, I may use the main inside zip pocket to store my iPhone, money or anything else of importance, but even this doesn’t happen all of the time! I’ve acquired the most annoying and horrid habit of quite literally lobbing ones belongings into what will undoubtedly become, the inner depths of the Bermuda Triangle!

As I’m stood with hand (oops, I mean arm) wedged into my bag, panic fills me as I say out loud but still to oneself, “Shit, I’ve lost my phone” Only I haven’t (well not really) it’s just buried somewhere between the lip gloss and address book in that oversized bag that seemed the perfect buy at one time, after all it was to be the perfect accessory to them beautiful Karen Millen shoes.

I envision the heads of women everywhere nodding rhythmically as they feel my pain, or maybe not, maybe it’s just me (gosh… I hang head in shame)!

Now although the phone scenario, is one moment that gets the heart racing almost to the point of a heart attack, I ask myself, “Can it possibly be any worse than the Oyster card hunt?”

In my head I hear this voice, it tells me “Now place the Oyster card in the inner zip pocket of your bag… place the Oyster card in the inner zip pocket of your bag…” over and over again! So, how comes somehow, having been stood calmly at a freezing cold London bus stop for the past 40 minutes, when that bus does finally arrive, having slipped a hand in that inner zip pocket, I make the horrid discovery that I have once again ignored the inner voice and the Oyster card is anywhere but that inner zip pocket. I deluge in, gearing up for what now seems like a man hunt, I hear the tutting and sneers coming from those stood behind me, the tired peed of shoppers and worse, on a really unlucky day, I may even find that the backs of my legs are being rudely crippled by that inpatient mother stood behind, the one who’s just used her toddler and his oversized 3 wheeled pushchair as a weapon of mass distraction (No offence to mothers who use public transport as I’m proudly one myself).

So… ladies, my question to myself and you too, “Is the oversized bag designed to make one’s life easier doing the job it claims to do, or is it time to downsize that bag? After all, I’m pretty sure the bigger bag just results in me overloading it with my own or even the families crap. They see a big bag you end up carrying everything and anything. Though yes this is all simply unacceptable, the prospect of my oversized beauties transforming into tiny smart clutches’, is quite honestly very unlikely at all!

What’s on your MP3 player (or in my case iPhone)

When I discovered that I had been tagged in this musical meme by the lovely ‘jbmumofone‘ my heart sunk! At first I feared no one would ever speak to me again, what if they discovered some of the horrid outdated trash on my iPod?

ipod shuffle loja online leilao

Here’s why, just check out the rules…

  • Pop your MP3 player on Shuffle
  • Inform your lovely readers of the first five tunes…AND NO CHEATING
  • Tag another few lovely bloggers to do the same.

Now… I do have some pretty awesome tunes on my iPod, yet there are a few that I prefer to keep under wraps. What if I ended up with a load of cheese? Worse still, I could reveal my Pavarotti collection (Oops, like I just did)! If the truth be told I love a whole range of music, I live and breathe the stuff! TV has nothing on music and I simply couldn’t live without my iPod (aka iPhone)… and that’s a fact! So, with batted breath with iPhone in hand I load the iPod and hit the shuffle button, here’s the results…

Track 1: DJ DEE KLINE – I don’t smoke (Original mix)

Track 2: Divine Inspiration – The way (Put your hand in my hand) from classic big tunes album

Track 3: 2PC & Danny Boy – I ain’t mad at cha  (Edited) (R&B Classics Collection)  Could only put the radio edit on here (in case of younger readers lol)

Track 4: Aaron Hall – I miss you  (R&B Classics Collection) Now this is classic R&B from the 90’s lol.

Track 5: Gnarls Barkley – Smiling faces (Album St Elsewhere) Still love this tune, cheers me up no end when blasting down my ear carnal.

Now… I tag…

AN EYE OPENER 6/366

Happy Sunday everyone 🙂

Just logging on nice and early for a change, to post my 6th image in the 366 photo project.

It’s a little bit different as you can see, but I tend to enjoy doing things in such a way (it’s my moto, that different is good). I took the image of my eye today on my iPhone, I then used an iPhone photo editing app to create this funky pop art effect! So, what do you think?
